Keen to help the most vulnerable sector of society, Shane’s primary interest and expertise lies in the niche area of Deprivation of Liberty cases within the Court of Protection. Shane is a member of the Mental Capacity (Welfare) panel and can act for those who lack the capacity to litigate proceedings in certain cases. He also advises on Civil Litigation and Personal Injury cases and can accept instructions to assist on Mental Health and Family matters.
Chester born and North Wales raised, Shane joined GHP Legal as a Paralegal in 2015 after gaining a 1st class Degree in Criminal Justice at Wrexham Glyndŵr University and subsequent Graduate Diploma in Law and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at University of Law, Chester. He was invited to join our solicitor training programme and qualified as a Solicitor in April 2018. He was made the head of the growing Public Authority Law Department in January 2020.
When he is not working Shane enjoys staying fit by amateur boxing and keeping up with the latest films at his local cinema, though he says his French Bulldog, Tyrion, takes up a lot of his free time.
