Trainee Solicitor

Simran is a Trainee Solicitor in our Company & Commercial team based in our Oswestry Office

Simran is a Trainee Solicitor based in our Oswestry office at 21 The Cross, where she is a member of the busy Company & Commercial team. She joined GHP Legal in September 2022 after completing a Masters degree, and is currently working towards training to become a fully qualified Commercial lawyer.

From sole traders to large groups of companies, our Company and Commercial team aims to provide the same high quality, seamless service across the full spectrum of business-related matters, helping clients to not only fulfil their own objectives but to improve their future prospects as well. The team is committed to providing a personalised service coupled with proactive involvement and expert advice, whilst at the same time delivering cost effective solutions and the best possible outcome.

Partner led, our Company & Commercial Department comprises a high calibre team of solicitors, solicitor-advocates and other law professionals who have the experience, specialist expertise and business acumen to deal with all your business related legal needs, including accepting appointments as directors and company secretaries. The team’s ability is reflected in the large number of organisations and other businesses for whom they act, and the strong relationships that we as a firm have built with some of those clients over many years.

Brought up in Oswestry and educated at Moreton Hall School where she received the Principal’s Award, Simran has wanted to be a lawyer since she was 10-years old. Getting involved in her family’s business as a teenager she became fascinated in how businesses operated and how the regulations that were in place applied to them. This led her to take a law degree at University of Nottingham when she finished school, and in 2022 she gained a Master of Law degree combined with the Legal Practice Course at BPP, the UK’s only independent university dedicated to business and the professions.

Simran says the part of her job she enjoys most is working with companies and helping to assess their strengths and weaknesses and identify their potential threats when selling or buying a business. She especially loves the variety of work, as Commercial law often incorporates a range of other laws such as employment law, property law and even litigation.

Outside of work Simran enjoys reading, making desserts and baking cakes, and photography. She is also a Governor at Morda Primary School in Oswestry, a role which she feels has enhanced her skills in the field of commercial law as it is akin to running and improving a company. Children are, she believes, an investment for the future, and she is keen to play a part in shaping that future and encouraging the belief that anything is possible.
