Our association with Oswestry goes back to 1980 and since that time we have grown with the town. In 2018 we acquired the practice of Milton Francis and Hughes. Later that year we procured the former Co-op Bank premises at 21 The Cross, Oswestry, which were remodelled as prestigious offices to accommodate the expansion of our corporate division and relocation of our commercial, property and agricultural teams.

OUR LOCATION

Oswestry is a natural setting for a vibrant market town, situated part way along a major trunk road that connects the principle Shropshire town of Shrewsbury, and the Midlands beyond, to North Wales and Chester. Boasting one of the largest street markets in the Borderlands, together with a thriving cattle market, Oswestry town centre has a wide variety of speciality shops, pubs and eateries that attract visitors from far and wide.

HOW TO GET TO US

You will find us at 21 The Cross. Our offices are situated facing The Cross in a well-established, busy commercial location which lies approximately 14 miles south of our Wrexham head office.

The modern layout of our offices at 21 The Cross provides wheelchair access from the street and disabled facilities. There is no on-site parking but you will find several public parking facilities in the town, the nearest being Sainsburys carpark.            

Oswestry is the second largest employment centre in Shropshire behind the county town of Shrewsbury, providing employment opportunities for residents of the town as well as the wider Shropshire population and beyond. It is therefore not surprising that the town is well served by public transport. The nearest railway station is at Gobowen, close to the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital. The station has two platforms and hourly trains run south to Cardiff and north to Chester and Holyhead. The station is linked to Oswestry town centre by buses. Oswestry bus station is a 7-minute walk from The Cross. The coach park next to the Old Station Building, Oswald Road, also offers free parking.

Since our formation 50 years ago, we have undergone a consistent and carefully planned programme of strategic growth to accommodate our growing client base and an ever-widening range of legal needs.

In 2018 we purchased the former Co-op bank premises at 21 The Cross, and relocated our commercial, property and agricultural teams from our Willow Street offices, providing much needed additional space there for all other legal services. We were also able to expand our team of specialist commercial and corporate lawyers

A complete refurbishment of the bank premises included the installation of air conditioning and the provision of private client meeting rooms and conference rooms. The new facilities reflected continued substantial growth within GHP Legal and our willingness to cater for the needs of modern society.
