One of the area’s largest Family law teams has announced the launch of a free weekly drop-in clinic in Chirk, for people seeking advice about the legal aspects of divorce, separation and related family issues.
GHP Legal, which has an office in the town, has been running similar clinics in Oswestry and Wrexham since 2011. During that time the firm has helped hundreds of people to understand the often complex aspects of family law and deal with the various agencies that are sometimes involved in family matters.
The Chirk clinics will take place at Spring House, Holyhead Road, every Wednesday morning between 9am and 11am, from 31st January 2018. People will be able to drop in without an appointment and have an informal chat in a confidential setting with an experienced family lawyer, all free of charge and without obligation. Those who find the clinic times inconvenient can call and request a free consultation appointment with a member of the GHP Legal Family team at a more convenient day or time.
The clinics will be run by Alison Peters, a partner with GHP Legal, and her colleagues Linda Hill and Anne Davies, who are senior solicitors with considerable experience and specialise in all aspects of Family Law. Advice will be available on annulment, children issues, civil partnership and dissolution, cohabitation disputes, divorce, domestic violence injunctions, financial matters, international disputes, judicial separation, mediation and prenuptial advice.
Speaking about the clinics, Alison Peters said: “We are pleased to offer the opportunity for people in the local area to call in for an informal chat. People who have attended our other clinics have often told us that they had previously put off dealing with issues because they were nervous about making an appointment to see a solicitor to find out where they stood, and because they were worried about the cost.
“Being able to just drop in to one of our sessions for free and get the information they need to understand their position without feeling under any pressure, helps people to make vital decisions about their best way forward.”
