Q&A - What is the process for bringing a compensation claim for serious injury?

Q: I was recently badly injured in an accident whilst riding pillion on a motorcycle. The surgeons were unable to save the lower half of my leg and it had to be amputated. I am concerned what will actually be involved in making a claim, please can you outline the procedure?

Q&A - Can employer dismiss me for being off work on long term sick?

Q: I have worked for the same employer since leaving school in 1979. In 1996 I contracted Type 1 diabetes which left me insulin dependent. I have been told I could lose at least one toe and my GP has signed me off on long term sick, but I am worried I might lose my job. What is my legal position?

He is not happy and we believe his freedom is being unnecessarily restricted but we don't know what to do.
