Former County Court Advocate, Sophie Bebbington, joined our Wrexham office civil litigation team in November 2018 as a part-time legal executive. She became full time in the summer of 2020 and is currently working towards being a Chartered Legal Executive. Since joining GHP Legal Sophie has undertaken a wide variety of Civil Litigation work, but her specialist area of law is Contentious Probate.
Raised in Higher Kinnerton, Sophie attended Castell Alun High School in Hope and went on to attain a 2:1 LLB degree at Newcastle University before completing the Bar Vocational course at Northumbria University and gaining a Masters in Advance Legal Practice and Mental Health Law. Realising her dream of working in the legal profession she became a County Court Advocate, attending litigation hearings across the North-west and North Wales for ten years.
During her time in the courts Sophie gained wide experience in cases ranging from possessions, bankruptcy and Return of Goods to Summary Judgments, Applications to set aside and Small Claims. After moving to Altrincham in 2017 she specialised in Housing Law and in particular legal aid work and attending at Court to act as Court Duty in the Possession Lists.
A busy working mum, Sophie is glad to be working nearer home these days and relishes family days out with her husband and two young sons. She also manages to find time to play for Hope Netball Club and support Stoke City FC.
