Jo Payne is a Probate Executive based in our Oswestry office. Having previously gained more than 20 years’ experience assisting with estate administration, Jo joined GHP Legal in February 2022.

At GHP Legal our Partner led Probate team regularly acts as Executors for clients’ estates. In cases where we are not the executors of a Will, we can provide help and assistance at any point with obtaining the Grant of Probate.

Jo’s role in the department includes liaising with financial institutions, preparing and obtaining grants of probate and making applications to HMRC. Providing support throughout all aspects of the Probate process, she is experienced in dealing with CGT and IHT calculations, in addition to preparing administration accounts and the distribution of estates. From initial contact with clients and bereaved family members to estate conclusion, Jo handles every case with the same level of sensitivity and attention to detail that is rightly expected at an upsetting and difficult time.

Brought up in Oswestry where she still lives, when she is not working Jo enjoys family time, cooking and travel – particularly when she can try and improve her Spanish.
