Paul Owen
Solicitor
Paul is a Solicitor in our Private Client team based in our Wrexham office
Paul Owen is a Solicitor based in the Private Client department at our Wrexham head office. Following a career change after working in Local Government for over twelve years, Paul did his LLB in Bangor before going on to do his BPTC in London and being called to the Bar in 2010. He subsequently, cross qualified and was admitted as a solicitor in 2013. He joined GHP Legal in 2022.
Since qualifying as a solicitor Paul has gained a wealth of experience in advising on the preparation of wills, inheritance tax and the administration of estates. He also regularly advises on Court of Protection applications for Deputyship and with the registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney. A fluent Welsh speaker, Paul takes instructions in Welsh or English from clients across North Wales, including Anglesey, Cheshire and Shropshire, and sees clients at our offices in Wrexham, Llangollen and Oswestry, as well as in their own home if necessary.
GHP Legal has an extensive partner led Private Client department which has gained a well-earned reputation over more than fifty years for representing many families across several generations. Since the covid pandemic, a greater awareness of the need to protect wealth and loved ones from a much earlier age than was once the case, has resulted in the department growing year on year. The team’s ability to react quickly to clients’ changing circumstances, and the provision of Welsh speakers, are contributory factors to both its success and reputation.
Away from GHP Legal, Paul enjoys spending what limited time he has with his family and friends watching football (Liverpool & Wrexham AFC especially), singing in a Welsh male voice choir and playing golf.
