Robert Williams is a Partner and Head of our Civil Litigation, Personal Injury and Dispute Resolution teams in Wrexham
A Partner of GHP Legal, Robert Williams heads up the Employment & Dispute Resolution team in our Wrexham office. He has achieved a Postgraduate Certificate in Legal Practice Management and is a key member of the Management committee of the firm. He has particular responsibility for the management of human resources and procurement and compliance issues within the firm. Drawing on his experience as a lawyer and as a partner managing the business Robert advises many other businesses' on the increasing number of day to day issues that they face. Robert deals with advice and cases relating to businesses including procurement issues, personal injury , employment and related litigation matters. Robert handles the higher value and complex personal injury claims such as those related to severe injuries, stress at work, and childhood sexual abuse.
A Senior Litigator accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, Robert is also an accredited member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Born in St Asaph, Robert went to school in Llandudno before going on to graduate in Statistics at the London School of Economics and gain a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of London, Institute of Education. After gaining his teaching certificate Robert taught Mathematics in South London secondary schools for two years before deciding on the career change that would see him enter the then City of London Polytechnic where he took the Law Society Common Professional Examination and Solicitor Finals.
Robert trained with a mixed practice at Wandsworth Common where he remained until 1996, specialising in a range of property and litigation work. Deciding to leave London Robert then headed north to take up a post with a firm in Chester, working in Agricultural and Commercial litigation. He joined GHP Legal in 1999 and was invited to become a Partner in 2002.
Robert lives in Gresford with his wife, who is a doctor, and their two children. A keen supporter of Wrexham FC and a keen cyclist and hill walker, Robert plays tennis and football and lists current affairs and popular music among his interests. He is involved with local organisations and has been a Governor of All Saints School in Gresford, a Trustee of the Gresford War Memorial Trust, and a Director of Wrexham CAB and the Groundwork North Wales Trust.
