A leading Wrexham law firm has announced it is geared up and ready for the launch of a new code of practice being introduced for Will Preparation in England and Wales, by the Society of Trustees and Estates Practitioners (STEP).
Due to kick in on April 1st 2014, the code requires that all STEP members agree to comply with a set of ethical principles that openly demonstrate the standard of transparency and service a client can expect from them when preparing their will.
GHP Legal, which has offices in Wrexham, Llangollen and Oswestry, has one full and one student member of STEP on its private client team but has opted to roll out the new code of practice to everyone in the firm's Private Client Department.
Pam Whitley, a partner with GHP Legal and long-time member of STEP, said:Â "Clients want to know that their Solicitor has reached exacting standards and STEP membership guarantees that the practitioner has either completed and gained the STEP qualification or proved their knowledge and experience, as well as constantly updating their skills. Compliance with the new code of practice will be additional evidence of the high standard of service we offer.
