Legal secretary to brave Midnight Walk despite sustaining injury on previous attempt

A legal secretary from Penyffordd has signed up to take part in the 2015 sponsored 10-mile Midnight Walk around Wrexham, despite tripping over a speed bump on the same walk previously and injuring herself.

Alison Moorcroft, who works for leading Wrexham law firm GHP Legal, is hoping that rising above the memory of her injuries and participating again this year will win her plenty of admiring sponsors for the walk on 20th June which this year marks the 20th anniversary of Nightingale House Hospice.

Alison did her first sponsored walk in 2009 to raise funds for The Stroke Association, seven years after losing her beloved mother to a massive stroke. Since then she has been a regular participant in the annual Midnight Walk.

“The accident happened in 2012,” says Alison, “and my left eyebrow still hasn’t grown back properly, but at least the scar is now just a fetching little wrinkle! If any readers are impressed with my bravery to join in the walk again I hope they will sponsor me. And if anyone has a pair of night vision goggles that would help me to see obstacles I would be grateful to borrow them! People can get in touch with me through GHP Legal’s offices in Grosvenor Road, Wrexham.”
