The head of one of the area’s largest solicitor family law teams has been granted membership of the Law Society Advanced Family Law panel.
Alison Peters, partner and family department head in the Oswestry office of leading law firm GHP Legal, received advanced accreditation from the Law Society after satisfying stringent requirements in maintaining a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice in specialist areas, in particular ancillary relief and violence in the home.
The Law Society specialist advanced accreditation awarded to Alison is the second of its kind for the firm. In 2010 John Lancaster was also awarded Family Law Advanced panel membership.
Less than 1000 lawyers in the UK have been awarded membership of the Law Society Advanced Family Law panel. Alison Peters is also one of just 5000 lawyers in the UK to gain membership of Resolution. Alison joined GHP Legal in 2006 after qualifying as a lawyer at the unusually young age of 23. She was invited to become a partner of the firm earlier this year.
GHP Legal Senior Partner, Richard Lloyd, said: "We are proud to have Alison on our family team. To gain this accreditation she had to show consistently outstanding skills and practice in her specialist area of law, but there really was never any doubt in my mind that she would not achieve it. Alison is a highly experienced family lawyer who always strives to be at the top of her game and achieve the best possible outcome for her clients."
