A leading Shropshire and North Wales law firm has appointed a Chartered Legal Executive to assist in its busy Dispute Resolution and Employment department.
Gwyn Edwards, a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, will primarily be advising clients at the Willow Street offices of GHP Legal. Handling cases from initial negotiation to final hearing, he will also work across the firm’s network of other offices in Shropshire and North Wales.
After gaining a law degree at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, Mr Edwards began his career in the banking, specialist tax and accountancy sector before joining Freeman Jones Solicitors in Chester, where he undertook a broad range of litigation, employment and family work.
Mr Edwards became a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 2016 and during his time with Freeman Jones gained considerable experience in specialist finance and divorce, employment and complex land law issues concerning non-married couples. He also assisted with high value litigation in the High Court of Justice and the specialist Technology and Construction Court.
Welcoming him to the firm, GHP Legal Partner, Richard Lloyd, said: “We are pleased to have Gwyn Edwards on board. He has considerable experience in commercial litigation, acting for clients ranging from small business owners to high net worth international clients, as well as having extensive experience in a wide range of Employment Tribunal cases acting for both Claimants and Respondents.”
