A Wrexham personal injury lawyer has expressed his gratitude for the ‘jolly good sponsorship’ that enabled him to raise £165 at the weekend in a charity bike ride.
Robert Williams, a partner with Wrexham, Oswestry and Llangollen law firm GHP Legal, took fifth place in Sunday’s ‘Jolly Good Local Charity Cycle Race’, a fifty mile cycle ride aiming to raise £10,000 to be shared between ten charities.
A hundred cyclists took part in the ride which began at the Pandy head office of event organisers, Jolly Good Vehicle Rentals, and proceeded through the villages of Gresford and Holt, out into the Cheshire countryside and on to Chester before arriving back at the starting point.
Mr Williams said today: “The weather was windy but sunny and luckily we didn’t encounter any thunderstorms. I must admit I was a little saddle sore afterwards but it was worth it to finish in fifth place and feel I had fulfilled my obligations to all the kind people who sponsored me.”
