A criminal solicitor who is best-known for her passionate and tenacious defence of cases in Wrexham’s Youth and Magistrates Court has been appointed to one of the town’s largest law firms.
Emma Simoes, a duty solicitor and member of the local court and police station duty solicitor scheme, has joined the Crime department in the Grosvenor Road offices of GHP Legal.
Prior to qualifying as a solicitor in 2010, Wrexham-born Emma worked for three years as a welfare rights Advisor where she gained vast experience of dealing with DWP and Local Authority prosecutions.
As part of the GHP Legal crime team Emma will be mainly representing clients at police station and magistrates’ court, dealing with all types of criminal matters.
Speaking about her appointment Emma said: “I am passionate about my work and excited to be part of such a highly regarded crime team. I particularly enjoy working in the youth court and over the years have built a great rapport with the youths I deal with.”
