Wrexham Solicitor in Golf Union of Wales double appointments honour

A Partner of one of the largest law firms in North Wales and Shropshire has been appointed Senior Ladies International Team Captain and Chair of the Selectors of the Senior Team by the Golf Union of Wales.

Pamela Whitley, who is based in the Wrexham head office of GHP Legal, is also a selector for all Welsh Girls and Ladies full international teams. She has been appointed to the International Selection Committee for Girls and Ladies teams to represent Great Britain & Ireland.

A member of Wrexham Golf Club since 1967, Pam also joined Royal St David's Golf Club in 1983 and was Ladies Captain there from May 2010 -11.

No newcomer to administrative golfing roles, Pam's first captaincy was with the Welsh Northern Counties Girls Association from 1973-1975.  She was later Captain of the Junior International Team and Welsh International Team, and has sat on numerous WLGU and LGU Committees. In 2009 she was appointed Chair of the GUW Handicap and Course Rating Committee and a Board member of both the GUW and CONGU.

With a handicap of 6 and a string of golfing achievements to her name, Pam's ambition is to maintain her current 43-year personal record of holding a single figure handicap for a half century.
