A leading North Wales law firm is continuing its long time support of the Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod by sponsoring the "competition of competitions" at this year's event which takes place 9th-14th July.
GHP Legal, which has offices in Llangollen, Wrexham and Oswestry, is sponsoring the famous Choir of the World competition, now in its 58th year. With its coveted Pavarotti trophy the competition is the Eisteddfod's most prestigious competition.
Taking place on Saturday 13th July the Choir of the World competition will showcase an evening of choral performance of the highest standard. This year, for the first time, it will also feature dance, with the best two dance troupes competing for the new Dance Champion's trophy. The evening will culminate with a very special performance from Wales' own Only Men Aloud male voice choir.
Speaking about GHP Legal's longstanding association with the Eisteddfod, Partner Mr Robert Williams said:
"The work involved to stage a worldwide event of this magnitude and improve the audience offering year on year is staggering and it is a pleasure and a privilege for GHP Legal to be involved."
"Although the firm now represents a client base stretching across more than 10 counties in England and Wales, its roots are very much in Wales with a number of Welsh speakers on our staff.
"The Eisteddfod is probably the greatest boost to tourism and the local economy that Llangollen and North Wales could ever have and that is good news for the large number of private and commercial clients we serve in the area, many of whom have been with us through several generations. As we have long held offices in the town it is right that we give the event every support."
