Q&A Widowed Mum’s house was in Dad’s name. How do we deal with Mum’s Will?

Our Mum died a few weeks ago and my sister and I were planning to administer her Will ourselves because we are the sole beneficiaries. However, we have just discovered that the house was in Dad’s sole name and he died over thirty years ago when we were young. We don’t know what happened regarding Probate when Dad died, we think Mum just took over everything as it was likely in joint names. In fact, we don’t even know if Dad left a Will. How do we go about getting Probate for Mum’s Will?

Q&A Circumstances mean we cannot marry, so how can I protect my partner financially?

Q&A What is ‘Constructive Unfair Dismissal’?

I manage a local workshop for a national company. Due to the financial climate, they’ve refused to replace two staff who left, so I have to be in the workshop as well as managing admin. My GP has signed me off with PTSD from the stress. I’ve explained to the company why, but they just said plenty would like my job if I cannot cope. Could this be construed as constructive dismissal?

Q&A My partner has left with our son and won’t say where they are. What can I do?

I have just returned from a work trip and discovered my partner has moved out and taken our baby. She left a note saying she has a job ‘down south’, is renting a house and has arranged childcare, but isn’t going to tell me where, as she says it would be unsettling for the baby to see me. I am devastated as I love my son. How can I find them? What can I do?
