An Oswestry solicitor is celebrating 40 years as an equity partner at the same time as the firm he now heads up celebrates its 55^th year.

Richard Lloyd is the current Senior Partner of GHP Legal. His legal career began in 1980 when he accepted a trainee position at a firm of solicitors in Aberystwyth.  In early 1983 he joined AW Brown & Co in Oswestry as an assistant solicitor and two years later became an equity partner with Alan Brown.

Under perfect blue skies the team, entered by Wrexham based law firm GHP Legal, was led by Robert Williams. A partner of the well-known local law firm which was one of the event’s main sponsors, Local Law Society President, Robert, was joined by Mark Evans the incoming national Law Society President and founder of the Legal Runner network.  District Judge Natalie Pritchard, a former partner of the firm, was also there.

Kerri Williams, who works in the Family department at GHP Legal in Oswestry, came ninth overall out of 128 runners who took part in the 10k race at the Brynkinalt Running Festival which was organised by Adrenalin Sporting Events. GHP Legal were one of the event’s sponsors.

GHP Legal, which has offices in Wrexham, Oswestry and Llangollen and is one of the largest independent law firms in the region, has announced the appointment of Lucy Spilsbury.

GHP Legal, regular sponsors of Adrenaline Sporting Events and long-time supporters of Nightingale House Hospice, has announced four members of its Oswestry team signed up for the Brynkinalt and Welshpool 10k runs on 15^th/16^th and 23^rd March, while more than thirty staff will run in the Alyn Waters event for Nightingale House on 5^th April.

GHP Legal, one of the leading law firms in North Wales and Shropshire, has announced the qualification of another solicitor from its training programme.

Thomas Casling qualified as a solicitor on 17^th February following the successful completion of a two-year training contract with the firm.

I asked the developer how I could gain access to the outside of my fence for maintenance purposes, and what measures would be taken to ensure the narrow ledge of ground does not collapse and destabilise my land. His response was that I have no legal right of access onto their land, and I can view the drawings on the planning portal – which frankly provide no answers my question. What should I do?

I am currently renting a property but am looking to buy a house and I have two questions. Firstly, so that I can work out when to give notice to my landlord, how long does it usually take for a sale to conclude once an offer has been accepted? (My lease says I have to give one month’s notice.) Secondly, would it be cheaper if I used the same solicitor as the seller?

A young woman who was brought up in Oswestry and educated at Moreton Hall School, where she received the Principal’s Award, has qualified as an accomplished commercial lawyer with GHP legal, one of the region’s largest and longest standing independent law firms.
